I want to copy my internet connection settings for transfer to another PC. Is there an easy way to do it?
Yes there is, and the following also works if you are simply installing a new version of Windows. Open the Dial-Up Networking folder in My Computer, right-click your ISP's icon, drag it to the desktop and select Copy here. The copy magically sprouts a DUN extension. The file is now a text file, and you can view the settings in Notepad.
To transfer the settings to another PC, simply drag the file from the floppy disk or wherever you saved it to the Dial-Up Networking folder and voila - an instant DUN entry. However, you will need to edit the modem properties to select the correct modem for the other PC before you can use the new dialup settings.
